Timer was exactly replacement for my old Whirlpool garage refrigerator.

The timer arrived quickly and was a perfect match for my refrigerator. The one I got was 1/2 hp and 15 amp like the original and mounting screw holes were same size as OEM so I was able to use the original screws. The instructions for the black motor wire placement were a little confusing because I have the version 2 cumulative setup and it didn’t specifically say which procedure to use. I ended up making an educated guess and used procedure 3 because of the wire colors and it worked. So far so

  • This fixed my refrigerator, the freezer was freezing up and this fixed the defrost cycle

Did the trick in my review

I had seen the symptom of timer failure before (ice on the panel over the evaporator) so I knew exactly what the issue was.This replaced the timer in a 32 year old Sears Kenmore freezer. Don't let the shape and the fact that it is plastic worry you. Read the directions and put the loose lead on the terminal where it should go. Also be aware that there is no ground lug on this unit, not needed since it is plastic. This kit also came with the needed screws. All in all, $12 and 30 minutes and back

Sticks in defrost mode

My original defrost timer began to stick in the defrost mode.This brand new replacement also sticks in defrost mode, so now I have to go to the trouble to find a quality timer as apparently this brand is not.

Sticks in defrost mode

Does not work right from the get-go. It sticks in the defrost mode. It can be manually set to run mode (by turning the dial until it clicks, which switches power from terminal 2 to terminal 4). Then it'll run fine until it ticks around to defrost mode where it sticks again. Very disappointed when something new-in-box doesn't work.
