Works well, not the best, still looking for a better one

We have 2 large blue ones that we use in well water in the Central Valley of California. When we changed the original filters after 3 months, we decided to do it. Worked well, not spectacular. Removed a lot of sand/dirt. I hosed it down every month and went back to the original paper filter after about 3 months to see if it worked better. 3 stars because it was ok and a lot of sand was removed. Didn't tear when I hosed it down and put it back in the big blue every month. I think I expected…

Used in well water system

Used as 1st stage filter with 5 micron carbon 2nd stage filter due to heavy sedimentation in well water. The two-stage unit is very good at filtering large and small particles, as well as soluble iron, which causes a sulfur odor. Before filters and water softeners were installed, bottled water was always used for drinking and cooking. Improved filtration and great value

5 micron woven design catches sand and iron very well. I change mine every 4 months and it's really full with little to no sign of particles getting into sinks and toilets. The 25 micron filters sold at hardware stores were dirty, but the particles were very visible in toilet bowls and faucets. Plus, a 2-pack of Revain costs the equivalent of a 1-pack at hardware stores, not to mention fewer traps thanks to the 25-micron design. A strong odor and an unknown substance in the filter has fouled my water lines

I opened the box, removed the plastic from the filter, rinsed the filter with water and installed the big blue water filter housing in the water. This filter powers my sink and fridge. The water that flowed from the faucet after installing the new filter had a strong odor and oily taste. I continued flushing the water lines with no improvement. Then I removed the filter from the big blue filter, cleaned the filter housing and washed the water lines with hot soapy water. I then flushed the lines

Good price for a great filter.

After doing some research I decided that this WP-BB type filter would be best for use in my American Plumber W10-PR filter housing which is used to filter non-chlorinated well water the house. The price was better than any similar filter I could find, so I ordered it. Upon receipt I installed the filter and it fitted perfectly into my filter housing. After installing the filter, I re-measured the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) in my tap water and found that the reading was reduced by 30% compared

Best filtration and great price
