Used as 1st stage filter with 5 micron carbon 2nd stage filter due to heavy sedimentation in well water. The two-stage unit is very good at filtering large and small particles, as well as soluble iron, which causes a sulfur odor. Before filters and water softeners were installed, bottled water was always used for drinking and cooking. But now, after testing for heavy metals like lead, iron, copper and mercury, which showed zero levels and no rotten egg smell, I can now safely use tap water for drinking and cooking.
