XL-2100 Replacement Projector Lamp: Compatible Bulb with Generic Housing for KDF/KF Series TVs Review

I really like this lamp. I bought a regular one and it broke. So I decided to get a replacement that is original to my TV. It was very easy to install and my TV works like new. I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who wants to try and save their TV. It took me about 10 minutes to install and my TV started working again.

Our 15-year-old 41-inch Sony Grand Vega is still my favorite for its unrivaled internal speakers, but now I miss the brightness of yesteryear. I paid about $200 for each "real" lightbulb after the original lightbulb blew out in 2012 until I learned not to touch the lightbulb with my bare hands. After we installed it for the first time, the TV turned on immediately without "warming up". After a week, the screen lights up again for 2-3 minutes. I don't know if it's because of our 15 year old TV or a bad lightbulb. Usually we don't see this dimming for months. The service was perfect as was the packaging. Updated: 7/9/20. The lightbulb has burned out. He made a very loud noise, the glass shattered, pieces of glass landed on the bottom of the TV. I cleaned it and found no other damage…

Addendum to evaluation after 6-8 weeks of use: After about four weeks of use, the lamp started to light up very slowly - now it takes about 2-3 minutes the screen turns on and when that happens it is very dark. The screen flickers, then goes completely dark again for about a minute, and sometimes even turns off completely. (Occasionally I even get a warning light on the front of the TV saying the lamp is dead.) I turn the TV back on and it slowly and weakly turns back on, "but then warms up"…
