This pump works in my cat fountain, although it doesn't actually fit in the "ring shaped" area at the bottom of the fountain. The pump body is slightly larger than the original, but all I had to do was insert the tube into the top of the fountain (tightly), then lower everything to the bottom and let the suction cups do their thing. It is very quiet and pumps better than the original. I didn't think I'd care about the extra LED light, but I love it! The fountain glows blue, a great night light.

You should clean the pump yourself weekly. Be sure to disassemble it completely. Inside is a magnetic piece that has a propeller attached that pulls water through it. If you only use tap water, limescale will form on it. I've been out of town for a few weeks and forgot to ask my husband to clean the pump.
