I use welding gloves to move hot grills and ceramic rocks in the Big Green Egg. They need to be changed regularly as grease accumulates which reduces their insulating properties, they don't wear out, they just get hot. These gloves lack thermal insulation and are useless for gripping hot rocks.

I bought these to protect my hands when I was volunteering in the raku pottery shooting event. They were ideal for handling hot metal cages/oven lids and tongs. Those oven temperatures are in the 1800°F range, so these gloves really need to be able to handle the heat. We did well. It got pretty muddy outside and a bit wet but I still felt protected. (although the water was a little unlucky) Best pair of gloves at the event.

Okay, let's go. We had what we thought was a fairly aggressive cat. But after some reading we realized he was just energetic and bored and the toys and the way we played with him didn't.
