Cool case, just be careful with the fan screws

I bought this case for my son's NES Pi 2 B. As the other reviews say, watch those fan screws. I didn't tighten them 100% so I had to put some paper in between the clips to keep it from rattling. YOU WILL MAKE STRESS MARKS if you tighten the 3 fan screws. Also, when attaching the fan, you will notice Undervoltage. I went through a few USB cables to find the right one, so make sure you have several options. I am powering the unit from my TV's USB port. Before the case, my #1 cable worked 100%…

Cons
  • The power button can be difficult to press due to its recessed design

Mostly happy, Less-then-Stellar Install

Pros:The case is well constructed with nice materials. The setup of the power/reset buttons is easy if you're familiar with using the terminal in Linux/RetroPie. Instructions with the kit are sparse, but their link to Gibhub has more in-depth information on the script.Cons:This particular package includes a fan to be installed in the upper case shell. The screws that were supplied for the fan install are too long and bottom out in the screwhole just as the fan is secured down. This results in…

Nice Case But Some Small Modifications Needed

Overall this is a great case but it does need a few modifications. The main issue I was reading in other reviews was that the screws for the fan would create stress marks on the top of the case. Unfortunately, none of those reviews seemed to mention which way they installed the fan.One side of the fan has a sticker. This is the side that air is blown out of. If you install the fan where it is blowing air at the Raspberry Pi, it means it will be sucking air in through the top of the case…

Pros
  • The cooling fan and heatsinks keep the device cool, ensuring it maintains peak performance even during intense gameplay
Cons
  • The case may be too bulky for users with a limited amount of space

nice looking case, awful threading for screws.

TLDR: This is probably the best case on amazon, it's got enough space and features to make a nice retro pi system. i would like to see the case be slightly bigger, and the screw holes be made better so a screw wont go through the plastic if over tightened. it's a hobby item from china so expect that typical quality. works with pi 3 b+, it should work with any standard pi, before the pi 4this is a pretty decent case, and looking at the other pi cases for a console this is the best your going to…

Pros
  • Compatible with a range of Raspberry Pi models, providing flexibility for users
Cons
  • The power button may be too small and difficult for users with larger hands to press

Follow the code install directions

Great little case. Follow the instructions for how to install a simple program. This will make the power and reset buttons work correctly. It is so nice to be able to press the power button, a script runs automatically, and then it shuts down properly. I am using with Pi 3B. It is running retropie. It will shut down the system, even if mid game emulation. I also find that now I no longer get the overheating icon in the upper right while running some more intensive emulators. Probably because of

Pros
  • The power button enables convenient on/off switching, avoiding the need to unplug the device each time
Cons
  • The case may not provide enough room for some expansion boards

It’s a cool case, mine had issues.

Instructions are not very good. When attempting to install the fan I put the first three screws in without issue, then I attempted the fourth and there were no threads for it to screw in to, so I could only have three screws in the fan, not a huge deal. I flip it over and the three

Pros
  • Functional LED power indicator
Cons
  • The fan may add unnecessary noise to a quiet room

Hurts to give this thing a low review

I switched from the NES3Pi case to this one, after I saw that it had functional Start/Restart buttons, whereas the NES3Pi only has non-functional "for show" ones. I'm using a Pi 3B+.With this case, you'll have to do a few additional connections, a fan installation, a toggle to enable the Safe Shutdown feature, and enter a Github address in the console to download scripts that make the Safe Shutdown feature work.I noticed a lot of people complaining about the fan. It appears as though the…

F$&@ing awesome pi case

This is one of the finest products I’ve ever purchased. I could not recommend this more. Even if your pi is not built as a retropie this is a magnificent case. The power button, and the reset button are fully functional. I sincerely love this pi case, good on you for whomever designed it.

Pros
  • Great price awesome quality. Thank you!!
Cons
  • The fan can be quite loud and distracting

Perfect case for that Retropie build

This case works great with a Raspberry Pi 3 B + build. Add a Retropie image and you've got a nostalgic gaming rig. I've used this case with an ASUS Tinker Board as well and it fits fine. The case also has soft power off and reset buttons which work great after installing a script using the instructions on their web site. The only shortcoming of this case is connecting power. If your power supply has an abnormally short micro USB connector or one with a wide rubber housing you may need to trim…

Pros
  • The case is made from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and longevity
Cons
  • The case may not provide enough protection for the Raspberry Pi in the event of a fall or impact

Great Retro-Inspired Case

This case is great so far! The material is very sturdy and looks just like a real NES. It is easy to assemble and get running. The safe shutdown scripts are as easy to install as typing 1 line of code. The provided heat sinks attach perfectly and the fan is quiet (So far. Haven't ran anything that pushed the CPU too much yet).

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • The power button may not function properly over time
