I managed to pierce the cartilage, but the spine didn't come off easily.

I didn't think these self piercing tools would fit ear cartilage but they do fit me. I got an upper cartilage piercing just below my current one and it went through on the first try. I really think the big gun you put it in can help it honestly go all the way. My only issue was that the plastic pieces stayed behind after they went through so you had to slowly pry them off the ear and the backs didn't come off so I had to manually apply them to the back of the ear.

Very good kit--!

I've never had my ears pierced, I have a mole in the middle of my earlobe and I thought I'd never get it. As I got older I decided to give it a try and ordered this wonderful little set. Beautifully made and very well designed - I marked the spot next to the mole and slightly pierced this earlobe and my other earlobe. In fact, I was amazed at how easy it was. I marked the spot with an eyeliner before piercing. I think this kit really helped me make it through after all these years and…
