Easy to use once you figure it out

It took me a minute to figure out exactly how to use it. I overtightened it on the pipes and then didn't have the strength to turn it to cut the pipe. It may not be a problem for others, but it is for me. I found that if I tightened it enough that I could still turn it, made a full turn on the tube and then tightened it again, everything worked perfectly. Very clean edges although I removed the old baseboard heater pipes so didn't bother me.

Copper cuts butter like a hot knife

This thing cuts through my 1/2" copper tubing like butter. I couldn't believe how easy it made the job. Good clean cuts in just a few turns. Make sure you tighten the blade slowly. First tighten it so that it just touches the pipe and make notches by twisting it a couple of times, then tighten 1/2 turn with each turn around the pipe. It goes by much faster than expected. And very compact, which is very good.

Sturdy and handy for pipe cutters

Bought this for at least one job. Its compact design is ideal for such tight spaces. I've researched using the tool and the most important thing I've learned is to take my time with the train. If you rush things, the blade is more likely to break. It comes with a spare blade that I haven't needed yet. It cuts effortlessly through copper as well as plastic pipes. (At the time I was hoping to avoid buying specialized tools). I did my first major pipe repair/replacement myself and it was great. I…

I use this to cut my entire pipe. Works perfectly!

I use the same cutter at work (civil engineer), bought the same one at home. I end up using this type all the time at work instead of the bigger ones we have. It seems to have better control when cutting pipe without moving than the larger pipe cutter we have (even with the new wheel). It's small enough to carry around, but it's really durable. I have had other cheaper boats and day and night go by between this one and the cheap ones I used to buy in Menare. The wheel tensioner is easier to…

Neat little tool on cutters

This item is essential when cutting pipe. I am currently installing a duct around my outside home to enclose the security camera cables which are currently outside and exposed to the elements. Before I bought this, I used a saw that cuts metal, which I used to cut through the toilet flange bolts. This cutter saves time and nerves. I just put it on the pipe, tighten and move it until it cuts through the pipe. This tool cuts pipes and other materials. This should be in your tool box. The only…

Awesome pipe cutter

After researching close quarters pipe cutters and reading reviews on the Milwaukee, Ridgid and Lenox I settled on the Ridgid. If you listen to all the "pros" at Cybertucky, you probably won't buy one of those tailors and rent out your simple plumbing job. I chose the Ridgid cutter and am very happy with my choice; not to say others aren't as good. My first cut with the Ridgid was on 1" copper pipe. It was VERY easy to use, worked great and put together very well. Stick to your office job, stay…
