The quality of Riedel towels has changed significantly. I've been using them for years and only in the last ten years have they become a little less absorbent and well made every year. I will find an alternative to effectively dry and polish my glassware in the future.

I love these things. As a full-time bartender, I wouldn't polish my glasses with anything else. The downside, yes, they get dirty easily, but they are easy to wash. I like to soak them, rinse them, and then cook them for at least 10 minutes. I don't use chemicals to remove stains from this material, but I choose a method that's safe for most materials: Dawn dish soap, baking soda, and a little white vinegar.

Have them for drying glasses - wine glasses etc without messing them up with those little fluffs. The towel looks good - professional looking. But this is difficult to manage - mine has become quite sticky in the washing machine - the red border has turned white. I originally hand washed them as directed and they were fine. But really, who has time for that. I think if you are a true wine lover you will love it if you have the know-how and patience to wash and care for this towel properly. I'm…
