Just received a package after a delay due to the weather. Waiting for this to work, opened the packaging and the gas lens has a screen that slides out of the body. I'm not happy but I'll try to fix it first.
Warning: I'm a hobbyist, not a professional welder. Similar experience with another reviewer. I had no reduction in argon flow with this setup, there was no noticeable difference in coverage, and the pyrex cup took too much effort to get it to work with my torch (looked like 1/2mm smaller?) . Also, I don't know if I'm used to this or what, but something seemed "strange" using these parts that I couldn't pinpoint. I just didn't get the arc I was used to, even with all other variables being theβ¦
I really think it deserves 3 stars but I'm giving it 4 because I'm not sure if it's my ignorance or if the parts were wrong. I use the #17 forehead trimmer that comes with my AHP Alpha Tig. directly from the bubble wrap, the collet length is too long. I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong one or if they sent the wrong collet. Plugged in my new lens gas at 20 CFH, cold rolled 3/32" bright shiny metal rubbed with acetone. Sparks flash, metal stuck to my new gas lens, new lens can't take it off, now
