I bought two of these remote controls hoping to replace a worn out original. I tried following Onkyo's instructions to program the TV's power button. This function does not work. Please stay away from this product.

I received this replacement remote for my Onkyo A/V Receiver and it does not support TV or DVD programming. As already mentioned, this remote control is not programmed for other items, although it fully controls the receiver. I had my old remote that only worked 1/4. Although I wasn't sure, I took both remotes apart and found that the faulty part wasn't the circuit board, but the rubber pad for the buttons. I suspect there is a coating on the back of the mat that creates a chain when pressed. So if you have an old remote control, you may have the same problem. I was able to fit my old circuit board…
