Review on Enhance Your Experience: RC-865M Replacement Remote πŸ“± Control for Onkyo AV Receiver TX-NR525 - TXNR525 by Donald Gore

If you have a partially working old remote control, you can modify this new and old one to be programmable.

As already mentioned, this remote control is not programmed for other items, although it fully controls the receiver. I had my old remote that only worked 1/4. Although I wasn't sure, I took both remotes apart and found that the faulty part wasn't the circuit board, but the rubber pad for the buttons. I suspect there is a coating on the back of the mat that creates a chain when pressed. So if you have an old remote control, you may have the same problem. I was able to fit my old circuit board into the new remote along with the new keymat. I now have a fully functional and programmable remote control that I have already tested. Unfortunately it's not that easy just sliding the circuit board in, I had to use a blade to cut the two plastic posts a bit shorter under the IR light and also cut the two posts almost completely from the mat mount in place. (he stayed in place without them), and finally two are slightly spaced at the opposite end of the remote control with a battery. All of this helped bring the top back down with the old circuit board. The new parts have a slightly different structure, which prompted a modification. Also, you can't put a new mat on top of an old remote because the buttons are so far apart that it's impossible, and the new top can't be properly attached to the old bottom either. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that if you still have the original but it just doesn't work completely, this modification project with this new remote control might work for you. I will be making a youtube video on modifying soon, I will call it RC-865M Remote Modification, hopefully it will be uploaded by mid-February 2021.
