Nice compact size but not great sound quality

This is a nice little speaker that can be hidden in tiny places but doesn't have great sound quality. It's not bad. Sounds good, but the Road Pro RPSP-15 has better sound quality than that for less money. I bought it for its compactness, otherwise I would have bought the Road Pro RPSP-15.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Loudspeaker extension extends but does not help

It keeps what it promises and there is an app for this speaker. Unfortunately, it's not very efficient and the audio is too quiet where I needed it. They move the output to a new position, but it's not as loud as the original speaker. That's normal in my cabin. It won't be loud enough for you in a car or on a boat. Grow.

Very good speaker for the price with average sound quality

This is a very good extension speaker for scanners, CB radio etc. The size of the speaker is surprisingly small but it can be very profitable. The installation is very easy. Just plug in and listen. In terms of sound, it is rather free of mids and basses and is somewhat reminiscent of a small transistor radio. So far this is the only downside and area for improvement. A very good buy for the price, which I can recommend with a clear conscience.

Pros
  • Very good

Ideal for CB, CW or SSB communications

This small speaker is ideal for CB, CW (Morse Code) and SSB (Single Band) voice transmission. It's well built (yes, I took it apart to test it) and is clearly designed for radio communications. Some people say the sound isn't very good, but I find that it perfectly reproduces the human voice and Morse code. Anyone expecting hi-fi music will be disappointed. It wasn't designed for that. However, I have tried listening to talk shows and music on AM and it has worked well. It is clearly made for…

The little box has an amazing kick.

I bought this for my 1999 TJ because my radio (Cobra 75) isn't loud enough to hear at highway speeds with the top and doors open. I confess I was worried it wouldn't be loud enough given it's half the cost of the Cobra external speakers. I installed it in my soundbar and was amazed at how loud this little box sounds. Even on a freeway with no doors or roof, I don't have to turn the volume up very high to hear what's being said. I had to extend the cable to reach my radio's output jack, but I…

Great for the voice

Heavy caliber, nicely contoured 2 3/4" plastic body, 2 1/2" drivers - clear/no distortion - good resonance. Speaker size causes treble / not tinny / An external speaker that is directional is usually better than the built-in speaker. Quality sound for the size. Good price. Only a larger speaker can add deep bass, which can affect speech intelligibility. If I still used a CB socket in my car, I would get this, especially if space was limited. I have a quality Cobra radio speaker at the base but…

Great sound in my loud pickup!

Bought on Amazon for about $10 and worth every penny. The delivery was quick and well packaged. I installed it on a classic '07 Silverado on the right side, just below my handlebars on a plate about knee height, it doesn't bother at all. I connected it to Yaesu ft 8800 and the sound is great. I can hear it perfectly through the windows, street noise, music and all that. NOTE. I also have a CB (Cobra 29) in the same truck. Ham radio and CB radio into the same speaker, but every time I pressed CB

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
