Don't buy multi cookers

Got this for my friend. He's a trucker and needs a new, healthier way to eat on the go. So I thought this would be perfect. It turns out this is not the case. We prepackaged all of his meals, frozen all of his meals for travel so he can use this little stove and eat better and save money. He first went to the middle of nowhere to use it and it only worked for 10 minutes and then stopped heating altogether. The light came on but didn't get warm. Because of this, he went without food during the…

Ideal for traveling on wheels!

We got this just in time to take with us on our van trip. This is the perfect size for two to four people. Two if you want to stay the next night, four if you don't want to stay. I suggest putting a hot silicone pad underneath as the little feet melted the waffle texture foam pad we had underneath (which wasn't silicone). We've only used it once so far, but it was great to grab a hot meal after driving to our destination. I would recommend it to any traveler on wheels. Tip: Place a gallon…

Works great!: Small home appliances

My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) travels to/from New Jersey, Florida every year. It was the perfect lunch fix. Simple, economical and convenient. After 8 hours of "cooking" it was hot. Suitable for 5 cups of ingredients. I made chili and served it with fries. Portions are not large but we had enough for dinner. We installed it on the back of the car and put it in a plastic container to catch spills that are inevitable when the car is in motion, bumps, corners etc. But that doesn't mean we've…

Great little item! for multi cooker

We bought ours earlier this year hoping to use it almost immediately. The trip never happened, so it was in a box. It was finally taken out of the box this week; and with a cigarette lighter socket 30 amp switching power supply, we actually used it at home to make a little stew. The power adapter didn't even get hot. The RoadPro draws about 8 amps of current at 14 volts; well below the standard 10 amp capacity of most cigarette lighter sockets in most vehicles. To stabilize it in a moving car…

Down Star and updated review

Now that I've been using it for over a year, I don't really like it anymore. My biggest complaint is that it only has 2 settings, on or off. "On" gets too hot for me in the summer when I want to cook something slowly for 5 hours, but instead it's ready in 1-1.5 hours. The fusible link in the pot broke recently which is disappointing. And after taking it apart, I was surprised to see how cheaply this thing was made, especially how much it costs. If it had 4 settings (off, low, high, warm) I…
