A good fisheye lens for those on a budget

This 8mm F2.8 UMC Fisheye II Lens (Black) for Fuji X-Mount is a very worthy solution for Fuji photographers on a budget. It's well built (all metal except for the plastic lens hood) and offers a 180-degree field of view on an APS-C camera. If you're careful to focus at distances smaller than infinity, you should get a fairly large depth of field to infinity. The only downside, at least for a pixel lover like me, is that it's not as sharp as OEM lenses, especially the excellent Fujinon XF…

Pros
  • 8mm prime; Fisheye Lens

Amazing lens! Small, robust and visually fantastic. I enjoyed photographing the Milky Way with this lens. I also just switched the NEX to IR and it turns out to be one of the best wide-angle lenses I have currently for IR (other wide-angle lenses have a lot of light diffusion issues, especially with the aperture; this one lets you reduce the viewing angle a little and still get no hot spots). The only thing I don't like is that the close-up focus isn't very good - it only affects very small…

  • Consists of 11 elements in 8 groups; specially designed for mirrorless cameras

Useful (and fun) ultra-wide lens

This lens is described as a fisheye, but I found it to be a valuable ultra-wide lens and not just a novelty, mainly because it has no vignetting (i.e. produces an image that fills the entire frame fills in but only produces a round image in the center) and really doesn't distort the image very much when used properly. very practical for recording in a confined space as well as for panoramic landscapes. I have 2 Canon EOS M cameras (M5 and M6II) along with most Canon EF-M lenses, the widest is…

Pros
  • Non-zoom lens
Cons
  • Nothing here
