Wooden Puzzle Orrery Hands by ROKR Review

Whilst this was a fun project to build and the instructions were very good there are many fragile parts where the wood is very thin and unfortunately some where not there were add-ons that broke during assembly. Even after reassembling (as good as possible) the movements of the music box worked for about 10 seconds, after that I just heard a click and didn't move anymore. If I move the pieces manually, they work, so I'm not sure if that's the problem.

It is quite small and not suitable for a child. The instructions were a bit tricky but if you can assemble an Ikea you can probably handle it. It took me about four evenings to get ready. The material is pretty soft (a few pieces broke) but there are spares that I haven't used. A drop of super glue was enough. The stand that comes out of the music box appears to be deformed or bent, so the movement isn't entirely smooth, but once assembled it works. In general, I rate it as a very pleasant…

Unfortunately the instructions leave a lot to be desired; namely, someone fluent in English to write them. This is not a unique selling point of this product from China - I have experienced it with other products from there, but still. Some mechanical experience and skills will be of real help in assembling this nifty gadget. If you have one of these, go ahead! I completed this puzzle in 2 hours. All in all a very fun build! The only parts I had trouble with were the metal rods and silicon washers. It would be great to have an extra c5 puck since it's the first puck you throw in and I ended up busting it. However, it wasn't necessary for the puzzle function and I just sanded down the broken part and put it on. I have made several of these kits from this company (mainly to keep from going insane during self isolation). That's the first thing I decided to change a bit. It wasn't the easiest of buildings. Some parts are quite fragile so a light touch is required. While you could make this set without glue, I decided to jazz up a few areas a bit. I got "Starry Night" because I'm interested in astronomy. I've had this on my wish list for a while so decided to give it a try when it was discounted on Prime Day.
