The ethernet connection fixed the streaming issues.

I bought the ROKU ultra because it could use a wired connection. I got frustrated watching Netflix via Firestick (Netflix lost audio intermittently). ROKU installs very easily and has a very handy remote control and I was able to simplify my remote score to 1. The picture quality is great and it has a lot of bells and whistles that I've yet to find. It's not that easy anymore to get something that can be plugged in, so I'm very happy with this product. UPDATE: It's been a few weeks now and ROKU

ROKU requires a working internet browser app

Very disappointed with the availability of this ROKU app. I was completely let down by the fact that there is no browser app that can be used to view and play videos on the web. I currently have two Revain Fire Sticks that have many browser apps installed as well as many other apps. ROKU lacks working browser apps. I love that the ROKU remote can turn the TV on and off and control the TV volume. I moved the ROKU to a TV in my guest room for corporate use.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Almost everything is provided

Great product, best streaming media player

I gave up cable and switched to streaming which saved me a lot of money. Roku works a lot better than I had hoped. I've had a 4K TV for over a year now and my cable company wasn't broadcasting it so my picture was pretty decent. When we plugged in Roku, I was amazed at the picture on the TV. The picture quality is fantastic. I'm still learning how to use all of Roku's features, but most of them are easy to understand without reading how. Too bad I haven't done streaming and Roku in a long time.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Some minor issues

It does what is expected of it, but it won't be good abroad

I bought a Roku for a friend who lives on the street from USA when he got it he was very happy since the roku channel was supposed to come with roku but it turned out that the roku channel is not available in the country where it is located (in the product description on Revain states that the Roku Channel is only available in certain countries (he lives in Costa Rica)), so the Roku ended up being just an overpriced Chromecast with an ugly and not-so-friendly user interface (the Chromecast has…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

Using Roku Ultra with AVR

I'm using a Denon X-2000 AV receiver and HDMI cable to my TV via the ARC channel and a Logitech Harmony 650 programmable remote. So the Denon is the device that does the switching . I didn't care if anyone used the Ultra with an AVR. I also now have a Harmony 650. The programming software recognizes the Roku Ultra in its list of monitored devices. Setting up the Harmony was straightforward, although my Roku is connected to an Ethernet switch in the equipment rack with a CAT6 cable, so the Roku…

Pros
  • Voice Remote with Power and TV Volume Buttons. Plus a lost remote control and headphone jack for private listening with included premium JBL headphones worth 39.95.
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

Netflix and Prime available. My Internet TV was supported by fewer and fewer platforms. This Roku Ultra lets me watch YouTube, Crackle, Orbi, Pandora, and a dozen other free streams, plus dozens more I could pay for if I wanted to. Everything is fine on the device itself. The headphone jack *on the remote* is a great idea and works well - it mutes the sound on my receiver instantly, with no delay. The volume setting then controls the headphones and restores the volume on my receiver when I…

Pros
  • The most powerful and feature-rich media player for HD/4K/HDR streaming
Cons
  • Wall socket required

I love this Roku! I'm getting rid of the cable and using Hulu and have decided to get a new Roku to replace the one I bought a few years ago. I'm still impressed with it - it was so easy to install. I'm learning more and more about it every day. I was able to change the font, size and color (cyan) of the subtitles! The opening screen is a moving underwater scene with all sorts of fish instead of the pesky 4 Roku characters dancing around. I can control EVERYTHING - on/off, sound, all functions…

Pros
  • 500,000 movies and TV shows with voice search on 1000 popular channels. Plus, watch popular movies, popular shows, and more without a subscription or fee on the Roku Channel.
