🗑️ Roomba iRobot 500/600 Series Grey AeroVac Dustbin - 4359682 Review

This dust bag works great; everything was fine with my old trash can. My dog chewed off the long, thin flap that protects the filter. I just wanted to replace the gate but I couldn't find it on the iRobot website. I ended up paying $50 instead of cents that the gate would have cost. I'm sure it's intentional, which is why I'm giving it three stars.

Another great update is available online. My Roomba ran for 10 minutes and picked up a small amount of dirt before dying. Now, with a lithium ion battery and this expanded compartment, I'm starting to realize how messy a house can be! I run Roomba every day, and since I updated this component, I've been emptying and filling the bin at least 3 times while it's running! The picture shows how much it will hold when fully filled.

Roombas can be finicky. I've had 10 or 12 over the years and none of them have lasted more than a year or two except the one I have now. I've had it since 2011. Looks shabby. I have replaced every spare part at least once. I keep looking at new Roomba but I'm hooked so I swap out parts as needed while the vacuum holds. I needed a new dust bag because I was trying to take one apart for a good cleaning and couldn't put it back together. This replacement canister fits perfectly and works great.

This part is expensive but everything related to this product/brand is expensive. The item fits perfectly and is not universal. I had to replace this case because the lock/unlock button didn't work when I took the original case apart for a thorough cleaning. The release button never worked, when I reassembled the part it practically got stuck and the bin never closed in the Roomba, I had to glue it on. This is very annoying. The new bin feels larger than the original 500 series bin. The filter is definitely larger and the filter holder is more durable than the thin and thin design of the original bin 500 Series The downside to this last design, however, is the lid.
