Very easy to cut potatoes, onions and cucumbers. The blade is very sharp, so I always use a guide. It's also easy to adjust the thickness of the slices with the dial. I love it!

I like this tool. I cut onions, carrots, cucumbers and even tomatoes. Keep it handy in your first drawer and find it very easy to use. I have a couple of mandolins, but they're in the pantry until I head to this instrument instead. The product is also great quality.

I have had this slicer for about 2 years now. I originally bought it from Williams-Sonoma (they sell it for $70) at our local store. The plane takes up very little storage space and is very sharp, so I went online and bought a handguard for it. Never had rust or other problems with it. Be sure to put it away with the adjustable blade fully enclosed so nobody cuts their fingers removing it from the drawer. It cuts from very thin to about 4mm. thick.
