The top opening has good elastic so you can use it for extra ponytail or bun control. I hope this holds because the top stitches are not covered. These are live stitches with a threaded elastic. If you're a knitter, you know what I'm talking about.

This hat is really warm and cozy. It is of good quality and made from a nice thick yarn. I love that there is a hair tie around the ponytail hole, I'm not worried the hole will stretch. It's very warm, cute, functional and I've received compliments on it. Definitely recommended.

A well tailored hat that is ideal for keeping your head warm and your hair in order. The ponytail hole is big enough to fit through my thick hair without stretching the material, but still small enough to be tucked away when I want to wear my hair down. For me, this will be an occasional use item.

I like this hat because you can put your hair in it, it's awesome but not warm at all. It's also a bit big so there's enough room at the top even if I put my ears up. I would use a different warmer material and make them a little smaller to fit the head and then I think it would be a great buy!
