These are such simple cute little tools - but if you've tried other brands you know the magnets can often be very weak, which makes it harder than it should be. It is one thing though - THIS MAGNET VIBRATES. I love this little thing!

I use this in a 20 gallon aquarium and it works great. The magnet is really strong. Sometimes I bump it on objects and it falls apart, but it easily returns to the glass under the force of the magnet. The only drawback is the shape. Because it is round, it is impossible to hit all the edges of the aquarium.

Yes, it's small, but it really doesn't take long for my 5 gallon tank. Strong magnet. I placed a folded piece of paper towel between the inner magnet and the jar to collect the algae. Then I just replace it with a clean piece from time to time. This seems to help keep the water cleaner and does not reduce the power of the magnets. A really great solution to keep glass clean!

They're supposed to be usable on 0.6″ thick glass, but it doesn't fall in until you start cleaning. Other than that, my 40 breeders, 20 standard, 20 long and 10 clean are doing very well with it. The first scrub is a little rough, especially if you left it out for a heavy scrub. It was a solid investment. Bought 1, used at 40 breeders, then bought a few more. 3* for inoperability within the specified limit by more than 50%. A 55 gallon tank is 0.25 inches.

The cleaning side is just plastic Velcro hooks. It scrapes off some of the algae, but not as thoroughly. I have an Equeon 2.5 gallon tank and I'm a little worried about scratching it since the tank is plastic and not glass. However, I haven't noticed any scratches.
