Looks Great - Shocks, Struts & Suspension

As the name suggests they look great and are even a bit thicker than the stock coil, not by much but still. Installation went well, but they are exactly the same size as the factory coil springs that I replaced. And didn't raise the front end even half an inch, which is disappointing. I wish RC would invest a little more in R&D to make sure they do what they say they do.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Pretty tough ride, but there are bad roads here.

They've been on my '94 Ranger for about 2 years now. Pretty tough ride but there are some rough roads here and I needed durability. They are fleshy and firm. The paint is of high quality, there is still no rust in severe winters. It took some finesse and elbow lubrication to fit on my driver's side, but it was worth it.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Fair enough, but...

These springs do not lift or align.

Available I see another review that says it got less than 1/2 inch, well he's right. Unlike most others, I measured the stock height before and after the spring change. I only have a 1/4" stroke. These springs are simply a tighter coil and a stiffer spring. Again, they will NOT go up 1.5" or level the truck. Ranger 1997. I'm a qualified mechanic. Rough country should not indicate that they are lifting or leveling.

1988 extended cab 4x4 stx ranger

I installed these on my 88 stx ranger. They raised it about an inch. I'm still a bit taller in the back so it didn't make up for it, but the ride quality is 10x better than before. Disclaimer I also replaced the shock absorbers, ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rod and tie rod, kingpin bushings and radius arm bushings. I can't say 100% how much the springs alone have changed. Definitely an improvement over 30 years of worn out factory springs.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Empty

Easy install and high reliability

Just installed them in the extended cab of my 93 Ranger this afternoon. My truck is a 4x4 with the largest transmission available. The truck is almost 30 years old and the original springs almost rested on the bumpers. These springs breathe new life into the front end and completely change the driving experience. It didn't fully offset my Ranger, another inch probably would have done it, but overall pulling the shock out and lowering the stabilizer end link resulted in the old spring falling…

  • Easy install
