Roxio Easy VHS DVD Plus Review

This could have been a good product but the instructions weren't detailed enough and it didn't include the product key required to complete the download.

This was a terrible product. The instructions don't make any sense. You can't do what he says. There is no serial number anywhere and the numbers found do not work. I asked Roxio directly for help and you can't understand them, hung up twice. I will never buy a Roxio product again.

I couldn't get the program to just send it to the local drive first. Technical support was practically useless. Told me to continue uninstalling it and deleting temp files and folders and then reinstalling. The hardware worked great, the movie-to-disk software didn't. Nobody tried to burn it to DVD. Failed to send directly to DVD. Software sucks. Returning this POS software product.

I bought this after trying another VHS to DVD package. Doesn't matter! The program is easy to use, although I recommend finding an older copy of "Windows Movie Maker" for the editing process (it's very easy to use). As far as video recording goes, it works surprisingly well! "Full" quality file sizes are huge, so make sure you have enough HD storage space. I bought this last October but haven't really tried to use it until today so I've exceeded Revain's return limit. The Getting Started Guide states to download the required software from the Roxio website. I've tried and tried and tried - the program loads but won't start. I contacted Roxio tech support and after trying to explain the issue to the representative (English is not their native language) I was told that Roxio would email me about the issue. It took some time to download and install. I was able to record a video but thought the video quality would be better. My biggest problems were: 1. If you use the advanced program "MyDVD", the import takes 30 minutes or more. I went and did other things and came back when it was done. Then, when the program loads, you won't be able to see all the options until you minimize the screen window, since some of the "MyDVD" menus are located under the Windows taskbar. I purchased this item to convert 40 VHS tapes of family memories from my children's births to their weddings and numerous family reunions. Based on my bad experience with this extremely unreliable buggy product, I definitely feel that this tool is not worth what I paid for and I recommend people not to buy it and get a similar tool from someone else instead acquire.
