Royal & Langnickel Drawing Essentials Portable Art Set - Packaging May Vary Review

Purchased this primarily for the case because I couldn't find one to hold pencils I already have and this case with supplies was cheaper than an empty case. I just started taking painting and drawing classes so I can't say I'm an expert but I do like this case and pencils. My teacher recommends Royal & Langnickel pencils. Case straps are tight and holds the supplies well. Decent beginner set, has everything I need for class right now.

Case is cheap, it will keep things organized but offer little protection from the elements beyond a cloud fart, and zero impact protection. The sketch pad did not have enough pages in it for me to feel comfortable beginning an artistic journey as deep, gross and troubling as I expect my drawings will take me, so I gave it to a new friend who purchased a tattoo gun before a sketch pad, had never tattooed before, and straight away demonstrated his need for practice by ruining the back of another…

Bought this as a gift for an artistic 11 year old. He was really happy and liked the fact that everything was in a case to make it easy to take wherever he goes. He told me that he has used it and it works good. Obviously he is no seasoned artist,so I know he is not familiar with all of the items this case comes with, or even if they are really good, but its a start for him and he liked it so that's good enough for me.

I bought this for my grandson who is 9 years old. He enjoys drawing / sketching & writing short stories. I'm sure he will be delighted that these are colored pencils & that have a special carrying pouch to keep them together. It'll make a nice gift for his birthday with a drawing pad. The pouch appears to be well made & I hope it stands up to many uses.

Sturdy zippered case comes with 12 pencils ranging from HB, B, 2B-6B, 2H-5H, a small pencil sharpener with two size holes, a small white eraser and a small thin scratch pad. There's a cloth handle which can be extended outside of the compartment for easy carrying. Everything is secured to the case by elastic bands. Pencils are band two at a time. My niece from out of town loves to craft, draw and sew. This was a small gift for her for Christmas this year.She loved it. The pencils are nice and there are the basics plus more, to choose from. Everything fits into the zippered case and there was a little sketchpad inside, to get started with.

It makes a great gift for those who like to draw, I bought it for a friend of mine for Christmas. Product was delivered early, and the pencils, sharpener, and are good quality. Case even seems to be. The only thing that I'm not happy with is the sketch pad that came with it. It only has 12 sheets, and trying to find a 5X7 inch sketch pad for a reasonable price seems to be impossible.

So far, I like this set. It fits conveniently into my purse. The pencils come already sharpened, which saved me time. The eraser worked well. Better than my aged kneaded one, in fact. I'll use the included pad of paper for quick ideas on the fly, but not much else. It's too cheap, which I suppose is why this set is inexpensive. Also, I liked the quality of the case. Got a used opened product. Kit is great for on the go sketching especially if it's lost or stolen. Great for the cost. If you gifting this. Check the contents of the package for smudges, correctly organized pencils and wrapping around sketch pad/case, eraser sealed.Otherwise it's not that bad for practice on the go kit.

I have added a few things such as stumps and a retractable eraser; but, this is a good basic setup to get started with. Highly recommended.

I just got my set today, well more like 10 minutes ago but I'm looking forward to using it! The case feels nice the eraser quality looks good the pencils look good and the sharpener looks good too! I already have a metal sharpener but I'll probably test out the plastic one sent. Overall great product and very inexpensive for the quality. 100% recommend this!
