Maybe not a real product

Something is wrong here. This is the first time I have received a Royal Canin product that does not look like the real product. This meal is expensive but the quality was poor this time. The pieces are so big that even cats find it difficult to swallow them. The smell of the toilet since they started this bag is awful, like what you get from regular high ash grocery store pet food. Both cats vomit almost every day. I guess I can't return it, but I won't buy this version again.

My cat got sick from Dry

I have a very healthy cat that I have always fed Hills Science Diet (Light). One day Science Diet ran out of stock and I bought Royal Canin Adult Indoor. I gave it to her and she liked it. but after a few weeks my cat started vomiting and diarrhea two days in a row. Then we notice a lot of blood in the stool. We took her to the vet and they did a lot of tests on her. Physically she was fine so the vet confirmed it was food. The blood was due to intestinal irritation from repeated vomiting. Not…

Royal Canin formula change - be careful!

I have fed Royal Canin for years and paid a premium price for what I consider premium pet food. Late last year my cat started to lose weight and vomited frequently. A month ago he became very ill and refused to eat. After $1,000 for diagnostic tests, they couldn't find anything serious on him. His vet determined it had to be cat food. I started looking online and found out that Royal Canin changed their formula. So I put him on a restricted diet (NOT Royal Canin) and now he's doing great…

  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not the best

Beware! Recipe changed for the worse!

I don't know why this company decided to change their recipe. It used to be a vet recommended food and I fed it to my cat. But when they reformulated this product (while having the audacity to charge the same high price for it) with incredibly inferior ingredients, almost no meat, and a huge amount of grains, it's now equal to or worse than cheap food brands. Of course my cat got very sick and had to stay in the hospital for a week as it took me a while to figure out what was the reason (of…

My cats won't eat any other dry food afterwards

I have 3 cats, each with their own dietary preferences and needs so food selection was sometimes difficult. When I first received a pack of Royal Canin the vet recommended it for my elderly cat who has now passed away. All cats liked it, but it was hard for me to afford it back then, so I switched to what I was getting at Target at the time. Then a few months ago I got a free feed packet at Petco so I grabbed another small RC bag and let me tell you - I mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 with other feed…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Good but not great

Anyone who has ever had a cat in the house knows how wonderful it is to get up in the middle of the night and step on that huge bundle of lush fur that is nice and fluffy baby left behind Eegaads. What a joy. But this food we feed or two cats took care of the hairballs our older cat had several times a week. You have been there for several years. They run and play like the whole world is their toy. They're never allowed outside, so I don't know if that's good for street cats or not. But I also…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Frequent vomiting in cats

I was a bit skeptical of the reviewers who complained about their cats throwing up after eating this food. My kittens are fed Royal Canin from the start. This is the breeder recommended food and I see no reason to change it. Cats love its taste. But when I switched from the kitten food to this indoor adult food, I noticed I was finding more vomit all over the house. I would say that the two cats were constantly throwing up 2-4 times a week. After learning a bit more through reading the…

The healthiest cats I've ever had

My three cats have been eating Royal Canin since they were 8 weeks old. First the kitten version and now the home version. They are all very healthy, have a healthy coat and best of all they are all of normal weight. The difference was noticeable when our roommate moved in. He had two overweight adult cats that ate meow mix. Their fur was unkempt and I stepped on vomit and hairballs on a daily basis. The vomit was an undigested heap of a reddish mixture of food. After switching to this food…
