Optimized Royal Canin Dog Food - Dry Formula Review

We ordered this food on the recommendation of a schnauzer owner friend after our dog was in intensive care with a stomach problem. At first we weren't sure. This made them very gassy, but we figured a second bag should be in order before making our decision. She likes the taste so she didn't mind. After two bags we noticed how thick and soft their fur had become. We will buy again.

Our 20 kg Miniature Schnauzer was diagnosed with pancreatitis. After several costly vet visits over the course of six months, our vet recommended this food. It's been a little over a year since we switched to this diet. During this time he had an outbreak of pancreatitis. I think this feed is great for him. This is a total game changer for our Miniature Schnauzer. Before feeding Royal Canine, her skin was dry and itchy. Her fur was also dry and tangled easily. Just a few weeks after she started eating Royal Canin for Miniature Schnauzers, she stopped itching so badly and her coat was silkier, softer and shinier. In addition, her constipation and stomach problems stopped. We LOVE this meal for our girl!

We have been feeding this to our little Standard Schnauzer (2 year old) and old Schnoodle (11 year old) for over a year now and they are doing fine. An older dog vomited often, but not with it. Check their weight and we give them kibble as a treat. Even though it contains grains and ingredients that are not trendy, this is the best food we have ever given our small dogs. Expensive but worth it.

This premium dog food was highly recommended by my vet. My dog had trouble eating and was constantly struggling with severe diarrhea. I thought it might take some time for my dog to get used to the food but after many visits to the vet for stomach issues I stopped the food and started using a different brand of dog food and my dog's stomach issues and diarrhea stopped . This is probably a good pet food brand but not for my dog.

Bought 2 1/2 pounds of small adult food to see if the dog would eat it before ordering a large bag. She liked it and ate it straight away. The ingredients in the first bag were also different. She didn't touch the big bag we got, let alone the food. It appeared to be covered in something quite sticky. The ingredients listed on this product differed from the ingredients on the smaller packaging. I tried to contact RC but they never replied to my message. She never got sick but became lethargic…

We had two Schnauzers; The first was salt and pepper, and the one we have now is white. In our experience, they all have skin issues, but our white seems MUCH worse than the salt and pepper we had.
