I loved this compost bin from the moment it came out of the box! It replaced a family heirloom, a plastic model from the 1950s. He's seen better days. What I like about this new one is that it's deeper and takes up less space in the sink. just love it! It holds a lot of food, so when preparing a large dish, all or most of the food can be stored. We have always used the corner basket in our kitchen sink for cleaning and trimming while cooking. We've used a plastic basket for years, but have found that cleaning is becoming increasingly difficult and leaves stains on the plastic. This corner strainer is better than I expected. I bought it so we can scrape food off our plates; The pieces are caught and the liquid drains. Then throw away the leftovers.
