Head very easy to remove

The goods were delivered on time but the head of the screw fell off after 2x4s. I bought them with the intention of using 6 of them on one door. Before using them on the door I did a test run by assembling a bunch of 2x4s. About 2 inches in about half of them are torn off. I used a standard Black and Decker drill bit with a Makita bit and the heads just blew off. When I get a chance I will send some screws back to MFG. Very disappointed with the product.

Good Screws: Screws

Having read other reviews about them being cheap and blowing the head off, all I have to say is don't use a drill like a gorilla and pre-drill. I've had no issues with the bit slipping out and possibly tearing off the head. They worked just as well as any decent screw I've used. Well oiled bronze to match the rest of my door hardware. They were used to replace the short screws in the door hinge and screw them into the rough frame for extra strength and security. I would recommend them.

These #9 screws fit the holes nicely. Most of them went in with no problem, but drill a long enough pilot hole first or you'll have problems. I used about 20: none of them broke during installation, 1 of them I ended up taking my head off and throwing away (mostly my fault). They go well with the…
