I guess it would be fine for light resistance. I made the mistake of buying this to build muscle. It's clearly just made for psychical therapy though. I needed to add like 20+ rubber bands (it just comes with standard rubber bands) to make it at all useful. And getting the rubber bands on was a pain. It would have been ok if it were a one-time thing. But the rubber bands (the heaviest ones it came with) started breaking after the second use. On top of that, it was horribly uncomfortable to use.

Pros
  • This is a good hand gym. It has a lot of adjust ability and provide the exercise I needed. thank you
Cons
  • Grip trainer may not be suitable for individuals with arthritis or joint pain

Just What the Occupational Therapist Ordered!

Wonderful for weak hands and fingers. This product was recommended by my Occupational Therapist and, with daily use, my hands have become stronger. Changing the bands to make the exercise more difficult is terrific.

Pros
  • great for the money and they work very well
Cons
  • Grip trainer may slip out of sweaty hands

Hand exercise on my review.

This unit for exercising the hand is great for smaller hands. Almost all others are large and difficult to use unless you have a big or large hand.

Pros
  • they are rubber bands mot sure how u get that wrong
Cons
  • They all broke right away

Great product for the elderly or anyone with a hand .

Elderly mother-in-law depends on this for range of motion exercises which, for her, are very important. Her old one cracked and broke. We fixed that and provided this one for her other hand. She uses them every day. Great product for the elderly or anyone with a hand injury.

Pros
  • Product is easy to use and hands feel better after use
Cons
  • Bands may snap and cause injury if not used properly

Cheap and inexpensive

Received it today, Its just plastic and rubber bands, so not sure how well it will hold up, but for the price there isn't anything to complain about. I'm just using it to keep the hand occupied while watching TV, LOLS. It is good if you are starting your rehab from an injury. Probably not the best choice if you need something super strong and hefty. Note there is a spacer that can be used for limiting range of operation, it would be very useful for people with smaller hands.

Pros
  • Occupational & Physical Therapy Aids
Cons
  • May not provide enough resistance for individuals with advanced grip training goals

Easy and simple to use

I used this exact same unit when I was in therapy, after a bad fall, that resulted in a broken hand and wrist. Now that my therapy is finished, I decided to purchase the same exact products that I used in my therapy sessions, to continue the therapy at home, on my own. My therapist only used Cando products, and the quality seemed very good, so I have been purchasing that brand. This hand exercise set is extremely inexpensive for everything that you get in the set, and it works really well. You…

Pros
  • Good product.
Cons
  • Bundled bands may not be uniform in resistance

Also would be nice to have extra spacer

As a therapist I Wish you could just buy just the hand exerciser- way too many rubber bands. Also would be nice to have extra spacer . Works great

Pros
  • No problems
Cons
  • Can be easily damaged if stepped on or crushed
