It's great but not all the equipment is there

I really liked it. Installation took some time as you have to find, measure and drill the studs. When he got up he looked great. The only downside I found was that it's quite expensive and you only get one shelf and you don't get all the hardware so I had to improvise and use some of my own anchors and screws. I ended up sending it back and buying it separately from the store as it was cheaper there. I also have more than one shelf.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Kit image is misleading

I designed all my garage storage with FastTrack systems. Post the pandemic, we decided we could use a few more shelves, but I'm worried about making a trip to the big hardware stores near me. So I saw that Revain had a "kit" that suited my needs. My mistake was that I believed the picture and didn't look closely at the text of the items included. The FastTrack main bar is not included in this kit, as is the second shelf, both shown. The picture convinced me!

  • Positive only
Cons

Unless you're already a FastTrack fan, stay away.

Do yourself a favor if you're just trying to install some shelves, skip the FastTrack system. It's insanely expensive when you consider all the details. And that's no advantage over off-the-shelf shelving that can be had for a fraction of the price. If you're already using a FastTrack system and want to set up multiple shelves, this might work for you, but note that the shelves need to be attached to the wall with their own screws - it's not 'modular/movable' like others FastTrack items.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Nothing

FastTrack Rail 48 " too short

48" Rail is 48". The widest holes are 47" so you won't easily hit 16" spaced cleats. RubberMaid should die Sell rail as 49" rail and you will have holes in the ends of the 48" rail. Alternatively you can drill holes between the end of the rail and the end holes and add a stud to each end plus two inner studs 16" apart Fasten ". Also note that the set of fasteners (screws, etc.) is of rather poor quality with small Philips heads. Better to use 3" stand-up screws and molybdenum bolts for cavity…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Really cool, pretty clean and great for organizing things in the air.

The Rubbermaid Fast Track Shelving System is the ultimate designer shelving system for those who hate clutter and busy garages, and also love to get things off the floor in a very neat way. Watch out for the price, the system looks cheap in parts, but if you're planning several or more modular systems like I am, do the math first to avoid surprises. That's why. I installed 2 of these at $15 each = $30, 4 brackets for each shelf at $8 each = $32, 2 shelves at $25 = $50. That's about $112 for two

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Not Bad

Great shelving system!

I bought this shelving system piece by piece to use on my cargo trailer. I wanted a system that I could customize and that was light and strong at the same time. It has been in my trailer for over a year now and has endured the bumpy New York City streets and long off-road trips. It handles the loads I put on the shelves, even if I don't do it as carefully. They even withstand shelf loads, tethered and bouncing! These are really strong! I would recommend using at least one screw to secure the…
