I bought these instead of single use plastic bags to store fresh vegetables for the sake of the environment. Also, I needed bigger containers since we eat a lot of fresh vegetables. They are beautiful and durable but not intended for the use they are advertised for. Big disappointment. Plain old ziplock plastic bags keep food fresher much better.
