They do not leak BUT sucking the drink through the straw is difficult and uncomfortable. I sent them to school in my son's lunch box. A few months later, as I rush to attach the straw, my son tells me the straws aren't working. He unscrewed the lid and drank from the box. Luckily he drinks all the juice so there is no leakage problem. However, I will not buy again. I want juice boxes that don't leak or spill. My child has to remove the top - it's an accident that has to happen.

It's a good compact size but the straw is inconvenient to use (you have to open it all the way, it can't be used straight only at a weird angle backwards) , and the air valve doesn't work so you're still sucking in the sides of the bottle while drinking) and they are NOT airtight! I found another pack of 6 bottles that have a flip top cap and actually appear to be airtight so I'll use those instead. We have used these containers for many years. After a few years, the containers will eventually crack. Nothing out of the ordinary or surprising as we use them every school day. We chose these 4 packs because of the price. Three of the four straw lids slide out when you close them. They are very easy to put back in but if you have a younger or less alert child they may not notice and it WILL leak everywhere.
