RUFFWEAR Obsidian Black Large Hoopie Collar 2018 Review

This is a great looking collar. It fit nicely and I liked the wide band. It’s put together nice. The silencer worked great.However, my dog is an 8 month old labradoodle and gets into everything! He had the collar since late March and today I noticed his tags were missing. The plastic clip holding his tags broke, bummer. I have to get new license and rabies tags. Wish it was a little more sturdy as it’s a key part of a collar.

Works like most other collars but the material is not as thick and sturdy as some of the older RuffWear collars I used to get.

Attractive, sturdy and overall nice collar. The loop to attach the leash to is very nice. I would purchase this product again.

I love the look of this collar. It is very vibrant and looks great on my black lab. The material is durable, even with two dogs playing and tugging at each other's collars. The loop to attach leashes is very sturdy and the buckle is secure. I never worry that my dog is going to break out of this collar and run loose. The tag silencer is a nice bonus. I don't attach his tags to his collar at home, so it doesn't apply to me, but it would be ideal for someone whose dog has very noisy tags.

I love the design on the collar, but I'm not sure that it's the most comfortable for my pup. I was surprised when I got it that it didn't have a softer material. But I love the little tag holder. My dog's tag doesn't ping every time she walks because it lays next to this rubber type tag. Great idea.

I love the design and the silencer for the tag. The collar does seem to be very thin and I'm interested to see how it stands up to time.

Super sturdy for our 45 pound Border Collie mix. We ordered a size medium for him, and it fits wonderfully with enough adjustment room available for his fur. He uses a line in our backyard, and has yanked super hard on it trying to chase rabbits, and the collar stayed put!

I like the color pattern on this collar. It's also easy to put on and take off, but doesn't seem to fall off by itself. I'm mixed on having the ring for the tag so far away from the ring for the leash. In some ways it's convenient but it looks funny. If your dog's neck size has you wondering which size collar will fit, get the larger collar.

Easy to put on and remove from the dog. Best collar latching system I have seen in a decade. We are long term Ruffwear users. I would but another but this one will last many more years. It was a replacement for one I bought nearly ten years ago.

NetRush is fast and packages your products well. The Ruffwear collar is great! My dog likes how lite and pliable it is and I enjoy the no rattle tag clip, the vibrant colors and most importantly how durable it has turned out to be. Ruffwear gear is worth the price especially when NetRush has the lowest prices on their stuff I have come across.

This collar is the best. I've had one of these for my (very active) 10 year old dog since she was 4 years old, and it still looks great. It's been with her camping, hiking, backpacking, swimming, etc and has held up nicely. I just hand wash it when I bathe her, hang it to dry, and it looks almost new.I just bought one for my other dog and anticipate it lasting just as long.

I originally marked this a 1-star b/c it was not delivered as promised.changing to a 5-star b/c it’s a great collar (especially for the money) and the customer service (to straighten out the delivery mess) was quick and exceptional! Definitely recommend!

This collar is perfect! We have 2 dogs, one small and one big. Both go on the river with us all summer and we needed a collar that would be good quality to stand up to the water, dirt and sun for the little dog too without being too heavy. This collar is super light, great color, flexible and sturdy. I think our little dog Ted will be enjoying it for years

This collar is super lightweight and seems too thin, but don't let it fool you.it is super durable! From the webbing to the leash ring, this collar will last a long time. I love that the leash ring and ID tag clip are separate. It makes attaching and detaching a leash much easier with the tags out of the way. Plus, the colors and pattern designs are great!

The only problem I have with this collar is the loop you clip your tether into is wide, so when my dog jumps up while on his leash or tie-out in the yard, the thick loop catches the hinge of the clip just right and open the clip up and lets the dog loose. I’ve had to duct tape the clip from being caught on the loop anymore. So we just take the entire collar off now when we come inside after potty breaks.

Got this for my pup about 6 or so months ago. He's an active boy, water, hikes, playing in the yard with his pupper friends. The collar has held up beautifully. We've attached his whistle to it also and it fits like a glove. Very sturdy as we leash trained him with this collar and it's held up. Still looks brand new.
