Winch Mounting Plate for Jeep Wrangler 87-06 by Rugged Ridge 11238.10 Review

This winch plate is great. It's heavy and the holes line up perfectly. I had to drill holes for another accessory and it's made out of some kind of hard steel.

Received this plate in the mail a few weeks ago. I am very impressed. The powder coating is better quality than my old Smittybilt plate. They also included spacers that go between the plate and the stabilizer bracket mounts, which is great. Highly recommended

The winch mounting plate worked as expected. I had to reinstall this 5 times (forgot the gaskets, then lost the screw). The Warn winch I had was dead so I bought a Smity Built with synthetic rope. The plate matched the holes for the frame exactly. Looks just like I had hoped.

I bought this particular plate for the winch as it was cheaper than some other plates on the market. The winch plate powder coat finish is gloss black and holds up well on my jeep. I prefer this flat winch plate to other raised winch plates on the market.

On my last Jeep TJ (1998) I used a "universal" winch mounting plate and had to make some modifications e.g. because they are right above the metal bumper and the plate rests on these guards. With this Rugged Ridge mounting plate that fits my new TJ (2006), it fits perfectly, *no* modifications required. This plate is heavy and rated for winches up to 9500lbs. I bought the winch on Amazon, it's a little known brand and was a bit worried about fitting it to a jeep but this plate works great! I did a lot of research on price and quality and found this to be the best value for money. The thickness of the board used is just right. You really don't want the steel coating to be too thick due to the extra weight.
