I have not used this hitch for towing or recovery, so I can only share my preferences and observations. As some other reviewers have pointed out, there seems to be a "space" between the Jeep frame and the bracket until you tighten all the bolts. Then it's a very tight fit with no gaps, gaps or rattles. This unit is the same as the factory clutch design while the Reese sticks stick out about 2 inches as shown in the photos. I bought this hitch receiver to replace my standard receiver because it didn't work with my new 10A/Hard Rock rear bumper. Nuts for bolts are built into the receiver. The 10A/Hard Rock bumper differs in that the bolts thread directly into the bumper and must sit flush with the coupler pocket. It was an inexpensive solution that fitted perfectly. Except for the gloss powder coat finish, this is an identical replica of a Mopar OEM hitch. and worth 1/2 the price! The picture shows welded nuts on the hitch but they aren't welded - FYI it didn't really matter but I had to remove the rear bumper to install it.
