Works better than I expected. My old '89 YJ was missing 4 out of 6 inserts. When these new inserts were fitted I was surprised at how much better the top shrouds fit. This was the best deal on this product.

Not very happy with this item. It is made of very fragile plastic. They break and tear with any force applied to install them.

Just what you need. They took a bit of dremel work to get them to slide into the nests. I will use them for soft door panels in summer and leave the nuts in a different set for hard door panels in winter.

I've had no problems with these new clamps. I got new skins and switched back to soft top doors and replaced the threaded inserts that were used in my hard tops. A trick with them, tuck them halfway in and then they spin, they don't fall straight down. I also cleaned the metal pipes they go in and lubricated them with lithium grease.

I bought two sets of 3 inserts, the first set installed fine but the second did not. On all three, the side flexible tabs holding them in place broke off, rendering them unusable. It looks like the material is harder and stiffer in the second set than in the first. I had to send the original back. I gave 2 stars because the first set worked, but it's a generous 2 stars.

Great replacement. I suspect the bad reviews are coming from people trying to put them in their place. Do not do that! Click on them and they will snap slightly when aligned. There is a small tab under the top ledge/edge and it MUST be facing the right way (the long edge towards the inside of the car) for them to enter. Do it right and you won't have any problems.

They work if they don't break. soft plastic The tops will snap if you don't push straight and the side tabs will snap if you don't hold them with a pair of needle noses. If you have to take them off to remove the panel, they will break. I went through three packs to install two doors. Why 3 stars? They are cheap and easy to get. I'd advise looking for something more powerful if you have one, or ordering an extra pack for parts.
