First impression of the hood

First impression out of the box: It looks like good strong metal. I can fix them. I'll post a setup pick this weekend and update my review.

Rugged Ridge and Your Suppliers

Bad Seller, Sold me a damaged item and passed it off as new. the goods are sent with creases and dents. The paint was touched up on one scratch, the second scratch was left alone. I'll be driving for a few days and don't have time to get it back, thank you very much! Please, Rugged Ridge, beware of the people selling your products, they make you look bad.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons

The hood vent was bent into the package.

It really makes me angry. The package arrived ok but the hood deflector was bent. I'm trying to fix it and still think I should send it back. Rather spend a few euros more and buy better. one today and it's all a curve. Please look at the photos.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Reliability

It still looks good and turns heads

ok I've had it a year now. It still looks good and turns heads. I painted it with truck body primer to match my Jeep's matte black finish. The only negative I can say is that the metal is very thin and bends easily. The long trellis at the back should consist of two separate blinds or have a built-in support.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons

Transport damage!

The first arrived damaged, ordered a replacement and the same one, damaged on delivery, sent both back. Also, they don't deburr the edges well, I cut my finger on the sharp edge. Revain needs to better pack this item and mark it as EXTREMELY FRAGILE to avoid damage in transit. I really like these blinds and wanted to install them but after receiving 2 damaged blinds in less than a week I decided to go the other way.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Almost never

The quality of the locking plate itself is good and it was packaged very well to avoid damage in transit. Why not five stars? The paper template for the hood louver is not to scale. Luckily I tested it on the bezel first before I started drilling and cutting holes or I would have ruined the hood on my Jeep. Another problem with the template is that it didn't have a cutout for the long horizontal slat at the top of the panel. I had to carefully measure and draw the cutout on the template myself.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Upgradable

As long as you take your time, you'll be fine, but cutting a .

I purchased this item to allow the engine compartment to dissipate some of the trapped heat, particularly after installing a supercharger on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. Installation required trimming the hood, as long as you take your time you'll be fine, but cutting a perfect quality hood is a little disconcerting. I used the outline that came with the kit, but I also confirmed the location of the holes on the actual hood vent. Use masking tape on the cut lines to prevent the paint

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Unsure
