Good cheap tool - tools and gear

Replaced all the springs on both LS heads with this tool. Since I'm doing a soft build and need heavier springs for the .600" lifter cam for my 5.3hp, I changed each spring with no problem. Note. I made sure the threads, which we'll be lubricating with 30 viscosity oil, didn't have any problems, didn't slip as other reviewers claimed. I also only used hand tools and no power tools on this product.

Works as described, not recommended for shop use or frequent reuse

Works well if you only want to install one camera. When installing the second cam, the nut broke and the spring came loose. Luckily I installed the brackets and was almost done unscrewing the tool when the threads on the nut snapped. Easy to fix, I had spare nuts with the correct threads, I fitted a new nut and that was it. Now I change the nut after each row of springs.

Good tool for the price

I ordered this item as a last resort. I read some of the reviews beforehand. When I received the tool, I immediately realized why people were having problems. All you have to do is use oil on the threads. Second, use a heavy gauge stainless steel washer with a large OD between the nut and the tool. Use oil again. Adjust the screw all the way down to about 10 ft-lbs. After removing the brackets, lift the nut (about an inch above the tool after the brackets are removed) just enough to rotate the…

Great tool after you get to know it

This is a great tool for replacing valve seals. This came in handy for my 5.3 liter GM engine. As other reviewers have said, take your time, lube the bolt and I put a washer between the nut and the piece of metal. There were never any streaks or creases on the parts. Now compress the spring, remove the clips and remove the gasket is no problem.
