I don't know how accurate the RMPs are but honestly I don't care. I use it to wait a timer. I ordered another one for my second lawn tractor and one for my push mower. What I don't know is how it will work in a 24/7/365 environment. Because mowers are stored outside.

Must have for your go kart, mini bike etc. Very easy to read, accuracy drops +-150rpm but I've seen worse, this article is good for a quick and easy adjustment of how accurate it is, it depends on how many turns you put on the spark plug wire , there is a pro touch. to get closer to accuracy. I am completely satisfied with this product.

I am really impressed with this product, especially considering the price. Installation was easy and it has some nice features. I used the included velcro to attach it to my tractor dashboard. The velcro has a pre-punched hole to facilitate battery replacement. (Nice touch!) I also like that you can program the maintenance interval. The tachometer is sufficiently accurate for my purposes.

Great tach for the money. Super easy installation - just wrap a wire 5 times around the spark plug wire. Seems accurate and easy to use. The Ruckus is a single cylinder four stroke engine and should have been tuned to 1P2R but it was too high. So I went back to the default 1P1R and works great. It's actually a tuning tool, not a constant checking tool, as you can't see it at night - you have to press a button to make it glow. Not a big deal, but be aware.

The tachometer showed about 3300 rpm but when I went to mow the lawn it went off immediately. The governor spring has been adjusted for more rpm and the self-propelled function works better now. The rpm is still too low. Hey this is a cheap tachometer that will record engine RPM fairly accurately on small engines. I like that the battery is swappable (some aren't, so it only lasts a few months and then it's thrown in the trash), the backlight is on your terms (on/off/intermittent).
