Description of Zinsser 02004 Bulls Eye 1-2-3 🎯 All Surface Primer, White - Quart Size

Interior/exterior use on new or previously painted drywall, concrete, wood, masonry, metal and glossy or difficult surfaces. Water-based formula seals uniformly and will stick to surface without sanding. Dries to the touch in 35 minutes, ready to topcoat in 1 hour and covers up between 87-112 sq. ft. per quart. Has excellent stain blocking resistance and can be used with any oil or latex topcoat. One coat hide saves time and money by improving hide and coverage of topcoats.

Excellent coverage; Good Price

Used on west facing steps that are roasted 300 days a year causing them to crack and flake badly. the face is smooth and light! I'll get it back when it's time to repaint. Seems to be a good price too.

Did the job!: paint and primer

I bought this paint fireplace name after reading an article about DIY. It worked like a charm. It took me about 3 coats to completely cover the entire tile but it looks amazing. It has a soft satin finish and I didn't have to sand the header first. It's been a few weeks since then and I've swept, sat and walked on some tile floors as they still look great. Recommended for this type of project.

  • a few competitors

Smooth Coat for Paint and Primer

I have used Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 on several projects. I've used it to prime our door frames and moldings on our picture frames and recently used it to repair an old, water damaged dresser. It worked wonderfully! I haven't had any problems with peeling or chipping except when I didn't properly prepare and sand the surface. I would recommend always thoroughly cleaning and/or sanding the surface before applying a primer to get the most out of this product.

No grinding! on Primer

I really like this product. I use it to prime some stained and varnished dining room chairs. It covered very well and made a great base so I could cover the chairs. I was concerned that the primer wouldn't stick because I chose not to sand it. From all the videos I've seen, people have suggested using this so you don't have to sand something that's clear coated, varnished, or polyurethane. He does exactly that. It has worked well for me and my project to redesign my 25 year old dining room…

  • Good product for the price

turned out great! Washed tile

Painted the old beige tiles around the fireplace, it turned out great! Cleaned the tiles, used an angled Purdy brush and a small foam roller. This paint dries very quickly (when painting) and will streak if not smoothed out. Instead of cutting everything first and then rolling, I painted a 12" tile at a time (cut along the edges with a brush and rolled the middle of the tile). I used tape on the outside which causes the edges to peel in a few places because I couldn't pull the tape off before…

Pros
  • Quality finish
Cons
  • Some effort

structured? Crumbly? Best in Primer

I couldn't show it in the pictures but I bought this product because it should mean I don't have to sand down the furniture before painting and I should do so for you to use it can spray paint onto finished wood without violating the integrity of the panel. Well maybe my batch was bad, maybe my can was old - I'm not sure. But first I tried it on a faux wood table (no sanding) and the surface came out unevenly textured. At first I thought, dammit! Perhaps the wood produced did not withstand this

Pros
  • Solid Construction
Cons
  • No Car
