Difficult to keep smooth

DON'T USE THE SPRAY! There's a reason most tub and tile refinishing products are NOT in spray can form. If you want to try this DIY, I suggest using the roll on/brush on kind. Here's my full story: I started with the tub basin, which turned out very well! Mainly smooth and bright white, with full coverage in 1.5 cans. If I had stopped there, my review would have probably been 5 stars. There were a couple of drips, but that can happen with any spray paint type of product and just requires…

Turned out amazing!

Ok, first and foremost my husband and I made sure to do our homework on this product. We had a red jacuzzi tub that was in excellent condition and we didn't want to spend $1,000 right now on a new one. But, red is not our favorite color. We spent a few months doing research on this product using videos, online forums, and reviews. They all basically said the same thing. Prep, prep, and prep again. Luckily my husband is anal retentive on all projects so that part took work but he did a great…

Pros
  • 2.63 x 2.63 x 7.88 inches
Cons
  • May require multiple coats for complete coverage

Easy to use but not very glossy

I'm having very mixed feelings about this product. We bought a house with a hideous tub, and I initially tried to cover it with the non-spray version of this brand product. I didn't finish it in time, though, and so the can dried out. The liquid stuff was very messy and it was nearly impossible tk not get fuzz flecks in that paint, but it sanded well and was glossy. I bought two cans of this spray version thinking I could finish off the spots that weren't coated enough with the liquid stuff. It

Pros
  • So Easy to use,and my bathtub looks like New!!
Cons
  • Use the product to spray bathtub

Great product for chipped Washing Machine Tub

I followed the instructions to sand the spot where the paint goes to promote better adhesion. It also helped remove the stained enamel from the chipped washer tub. I sprayed on 3 coats about 30 minutes apart. I then waited 3 days before putting any water in the tub. Time will tell if it will last any length of time but considering my other choice was to replace my 1 year old washing machine this was well worth the cost. This isn't a listed use of this product but if it works this well and was…

  • Adult

Good for touch up. for my opinion

I purchased this to do touch ups on my tile wall after painting it with Rust-Oleum tub and tile 2 part refinishing kit a few years ago. This paint is very thin and it will run, so apply many thin coats. I applied 6 very thin coats letting it dry about 30 minutes between coats. It matched the Rust-Oleum tub and tile perfectly and did exactly what I need it to do. I used about a half a can to touch up about 2 square feet. You would need many cans to do a whole tub and surrounding walls. I painted

  • Dry to the touch in 15 minutes and covers up to 15 sq ft per can, allow surface to fully dry for 3 days prior to water exposure
Cons
  • May be difficult to remove from skin or clothing if accidentally applied

Okay but takes forever to cover anything

So we have been trying to redo our bathroom using this spray was my second attempt. We first used the liquid.1. One can is not going to cover anything! We had a tub and shower area so I got 2.2. Make sure you prep well and sand we’ll! Had to redo parts bc they first time paint peeled off!3. Vent we’ll! The spray is not nearly as bad smell wise as the paint is but it’s still very strong.4. This would be good if you had a small sink to do or very small touch ups but not for a whole tub or wall…

Pros
  • Rust-Oleum
Cons
  • Rust-Oleum 280882 Specialty Tub & Tile Spray Paint is not eco-friendly

Great product if you know what you are doing.

Do your due diligence with this product. It is really great if you know what you are doing and I would only recommend applying to a smallish item.I was refurbishing a sink, so I was able to control spray and coverage. Tip: heat up the can in a warm bucket of water before spraying. Helps keep the extra particles (it’s like fuzz) down. Good ventilation is also key. Overall didn’t give me the smooth glossy coating that I wanted but got the job done.

Pros
  • Apply to ceramic, porcelain or fiberglass including tiles, sinks and tubs
Cons
  • May require a respirator mask to be worn during application
