I used it on 16 gauge aluminum sheet metal for my country trailer. All the metal was lifted with light colored pads and cleaned with acetone and the paint and primer came off immediately. I spent a couple of weeks prepping all the metal just for the primer to come off.

Sanded, washed and dried before application. I used a quality brush and everything went smoothly. Applying 3 coats to the outside of John's 12ft boat (+/- 80ft) used up 1/2 quart so I have enough left over to use on my other boat or to have on hand when the paint I buy won't stand up to my abuse.

The front door used to have paint peeling exposing the galvanized finish. I didn't want the same thing to happen. Tried this primer. Instructions followed and glued very well. The latex paint covered it very well. Good foundation. Note: This product has an odor/smoke that dissipates quickly. I recommend a mask when applying this product. Works well but only time will tell how long it will prevent oxidation failure. I used this to prime the aluminum frame on my screen porch. Some bars are aluminum 5" square bar, and over time the aluminum will oxidize causing the paint to warp and peel. The section I used this on as a test was the jamb next to the door.
