I needed something similar for a motorhome

product when it is fine. Strong so far. The only joke I have is doing all this work to get this setup to sound and realizing that the last 2 screws holding the "female" plate were so tiny that I was beside myself that they thought it was appropriate. Also trying to put them outside and hoping none of them would fall was a challenge. However, in the end it was a clean install and looks like it will last a long time.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine

I slap it over the knockout hole

I was expecting this box to have the knockout hole typical of other electrical boxes - a metal circle in the knockout area with 2-3 welds holding it in place. This makes it easier to remove the knockout required. However, the section was solid metal and I had to drill a few holes in it and then use a round metal file to make a hole for the wires to run through. Not being an electrician and not owning a knockout tool I must have been naive. Also, the ground wire was too short. Everything works…

Nice design overall, with a few flaws

Seems good value for money. I had to fiddle with the wiring as the ground wire was very short and difficult to reinstall once the outlet was plugged in (the box is very narrow and deep). If you don't secure the outlet plate just before grounding, you won't be able to use it at all. In addition, the lid has a lock that can hardly be opened. When I finally opened it, it wouldn't snap back into place. I gave 5 starts at Weatherproof but didn't really have enough time to figure it out. I love that…

Cheap, poor choice of components and difficult to install.

It is difficult and very uncomfortable to screw the plate with the socket into the socket. They offer the smallest screws, less than a quarter inch long, and the cheapest screws to connect two panels in the box that your fingers can't begin to screw. The screws drop down and must be found on the ground or in the grass and at the end have to make a trip to the hardware store (12 miles one way) for 1/2 or 1 inch screws. It gets better. The hardware store didn't have these screws; because they are

Good electrical box but there are a few things.

First of all I am satisfied with this box, but the installation is not done by one person. First, the door won't hold itself, so drilling and screwing the box is a three-ring circus in itself. In the end I sealed the door. Secondly, the box does not have a break-out entrance for electrical cables. So if you attach them to a fountain in the wall of a building, you'll have to drill your own hole. Third, the back is not a smooth, flat surface. To prevent rain and critters from entering, you need…

  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some small things

The box is stable, but that's the only plus.

I had to send them back. But I got them working because the box itself is strong and should hold up. The rest of the parts are very cheap. The protrusions on the base are weak. If you pull on the wires, they will break. The ground wires are 3 inches long. The code states that they should protrude 6 inches from the box for easy manipulation of the jar. I replaced those flimsy ground wires. The jar was so cheap I went to Lowes and bought the good ones for $8.95 and threw away the ones in the…
