More durable than most - OD Green is a must have.

SOL is a great device. This blanket is included. I like green OD instead of neon orange. It's well made and thicker than I expected. I would recommend. Small when folded - takes up little space in a backpack but offers great benefits.

  • Lots of positive emotions

The best ! good for safety and survival

It is used 5-6 times. This "NOT" is one of those cheap, flimsy, easily torn rescue blankets. YES, it weighs more than a regular disposable e-quilt, but you REALLY have to abuse it to tear it! Bought 4 more after my first one. Got them in my backpacks and in my BOB car.

Pros
  • Alright!

  • No instructions

Convenient and necessary. good for camping and hiking

I wouldn't leave the house without it. Excellent all purpose use, speaks for itself in an emergency, car, motorcycle, bike, walk through the bush if not for yourself then in case of another person/team member just can't last, heat can prevent people from falling in lighter or harder shock, it offers comfort. Can be used in or around a sleeping bag (folded taco style, half tent), ground cover, etc. The OD color keeps the low profile I need. Very light but durable material. I also have them in my

Holes after three uses

After three times light use outdoors, this rescue blanket has two small holes the size of a pencil. I was under the impression that this emergency blanket would be much stronger than regular emergency blankets and seemed to hold up for the most part. But now I have holes and I don't recall the ceiling being stressed enough to cause holes to form. On a warm note, it was quieter than a typical rescue blanket, but not so much that I noticed a difference. Using it as the only travel blanket was aโ€ฆ

Great for the intended use!

Really like how it stands out from the average emergency blanket. Beside emergency I was looking for something reusable to cover my sleeping bag or tent for extra warmth. It's quite large so it did its job well when I attached it to my CORE 9 person (full mesh roof) tent with aluminum tarp brackets (under the rain canopy). When it gets cooler, hopefully we'll get a little warmer. When it's warm, I've seen testimonials from people using Mylar to reflect sunlight OUT in the morning to allow forโ€ฆ

Ideal car emergency blanket

I bought this SOL emergency blanket to use in my car in a roadside emergency bag. I used to live in the north and sometimes drove on nice back roads. Because of this, I or together kept a bag in my car that contained things like this blanket, 5-day ration, spare socks, coat, belt, winter hat, gloves, and some water. Although I didn't personally need to use it in an emergency. I think this blanket will be fine. It's stronger than the regular Mylar blanket it replaces. If you're buying this for a

NO BUSHINGS or reinforced corners to attach like a tarp!

WITHOUT BUSHINGS and reinforced corners! If you plan to use it as a TARP shelter as shown on the front of the box plan on installing your own corner anchors as there are no grommets or reinforcing material on any of the corners or edges. It is best to tie a smooth round stone to the corner pocket to secure the material. While the material stretches like a garbage bag compared to regular Mylar, which tears easily, puncturing the material with a homemade tent stake will not give you a secureโ€ฆ
