Just buy another tablet

If you spent $100 on a tablet like I spent on my Fire HD 8 kids, just buy him another tablet. It's not worth spending $25 on this Saturday afternoon and a half only to not be able to reattach the last plug. I broke my tablet trying to fix the screen after about two hours. There are no instructions either and there is a video on YouTube by a Brit showing how to do it, but not really anything like that. You also need small children's hands for this. If you have banana hands and value your time…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Compatibility

It works but there were no instructions

I was shocked when I put everything back together, it worked really great! It took about an hour of actual work, but I've spent hours looking for a video or tutorial on the 8th Gen Kindle Fire 8 HD to no avail. The tricky part was figuring out how to remove the four screws to pull the motherboard out so the LCD/digitizer cable can run front to back to connect to the motherboard. I've never done anything like this before and it wasn't too difficult. I put together a detailed guide and posted it…

  • Test for a year
Cons

Two wrong ones in a row. Not the same quality as the original.

Two consecutive defects. The quality does not match the original. Better leave the broken screen in place. This is not an easy process. I used to be a laptop specialist when they used to be a little thicker and more of a hassle to replace. ALSO there are no how-to guides on YouTube and only incomplete how-to videos by amateurs. The first one ordered had a dead spot at the top of the 1 inch screen. The seller sent a replacement unit, but it was WORSE than the first, with different dead zones…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Safety

Worked for me in computers and accessories

In the end everything worked out. At first I thought the part that sticks to the motherboard was broken because there was a piece of paper on the back of the tape that I couldn't tear off. I went ahead and attached it to the motherboard with a piece of paper and then put the tape in the connector and to my surprise it worked. There are no dead zones in the digitizer or anything like that. I couldn't believe it but it worked fine. I would recommend buying extra double sided tape, like a lot, but

Pros
  • As far as I am satisfied

Easy peezy read my review

Very easy, the hardest part was breaking the screen, the square thing at the bottom has a little thing attached that seems to be called a digitizer or something anyway make sure you touch the screen before putting it back on. If that doesn't work, just wiggle the piece until it does. It was a huge process removing the motherboard and battery to get the digitizer. I just took wire cutters and cut off a piece of plastic that got in the way of putting it back in, you can't tell, and it saved me 30

Pros
  • Best in its niche

Looks hit or miss

he's not that old. Everything looked fine and well packaged out of the box, but the DIGITAL DOESN'T WORK! I have decent experience with tech repairs and to be honest the hardest part for me was removing the old glass. All connectors and ribbon cables were in good condition, properly connected, nothing damaged. The tablet turns on and looks fine BUT doesn't recognize a touch. As for the digitizer, it looks like a successful product. Now I wasted my time and money but my kid is happy because he…

  • Absolutely amazing!
