Safco Products 3081 Vertical Compartment Review

I knew I was ordering a "plain" 20-compartment box, but I didn't realize it would have so many box pieces and no assembly instructions. So funny! If you are a civil engineer, love solving puzzles and solving 3D problems and have a lot of time/patience, then this product is for you. Enjoy and good luck. It's not so bad once you figure it out and put the box together.

This product is actually thinner than I expected. Some of the edges of the inner box pieces were slightly damaged, making assembly difficult. I would like it to be made out of heavier card stock as it is more functional and will last longer. I would be willing to pay more for a better product. I use it to store long items that are heavier than blueprints, so I suspect the lifespan of this product won't be all that long.

The cardboard part of the holder assembles easily and looks good. The strips of plastic covering the edges are almost impossible to install and they tore the cardboard edges when I tried to drop them. The plastic slats come in two sizes: the vertical ones were difficult to install, and the horizontal ones were impossible. They are too small for the edges they are supposed to protect. I'm a photographer and I needed something to hold all my backgrounds. It's actually very small and the image makes it look bigger than it really is, but it manages to hold many backgrounds (but only the more durable ones like paper background rolls or thick vinyl). Anything more fragile, like flimsy vinyl, will fall off because the front is only about 1 foot tall. It's basically a cardboard box with cardboard slots inside. Extremely overpriced for eight boxes. Not only is it cheaply made, the parts don't fit together properly. I could do with cheap materials if I could assemble it like the instructions say. To hold the pieces together I had to use tape which shouldn't have been necessary and the plastic channels protecting the cardboard strips weren't long enough to get the job done. The "wooden structures" were also damaged, either in production or during shipping, hence there are white marks on the front. While
