I bought this as an abstract artist who works primarily with acrylics on canvas and wanted to add mixed media to my work. I can't talk about anything but this. This works great for my purposes. I have used these pastels in the past but have switched to more expensive ones such as Spezial and Senneliers. I was interested in the lightfastness of these pastels and found a chart on the Sakuraofamerica website listing all the colors and their lightfastness. The 34 colors of the set were rated as very good or excellent. I loved it and ordered another set and I think I will always use them :). I wrote a review earlier saying they are good, but Sakura's "Specialist" line is better. He's not better, just different. If you've used regular pastels and are new to oil pastels (like I was when I wrote my original review) then these soft dry pastels are as close to good quality as you can get. There are others that look like soft, dry pastels, like Holbein and Van Gogh, but they are too dry, making it difficult to get a rich finish.
