I've used the Solomon for backpacking in the past and they still look new after 3 years so it wasn't hard to choose them for heavy duty work boots. Fits and feels perfect. I wear a 10.5 and her 10.5 was perfect. The best part is that I don't give money to anti-American shoe companies👍🏻

I have a few other XA PRO 3D pairs. This new version is not like that at all. Buyer Warning. They seem cheaper, not as well made, and look like a bunch of plastic that's fused together instead of sewn together. Salomon is unhappy with this new design. The previous version was one of the best shoes I've ever owned. Why change something that isn't broken? booooo. I will most likely return.

Salomon doesn't fit. They are undersized. I've worn a size 13 my entire adult life and Salomon was the first size 14 shoe I had to wear. broke in, no luck, used a shoe tree, and still no luck. I got them a size 14 and they fit great. So that's my only criticism. I recommend if you want to buy XD go one size up. Otherwise, it's a comfortable and durable hiking shoe for whatever terrain you throw it at. Solomon is ready to accept the challenge. and they look good too.

I've had 5 or 6 pairs of Xa Pro shoes over the past few years and keep coming back. I use them daily on trails and sidewalks for a 2 mile walk in the morning and a 2-3 mile walk/run/hike in the late afternoon (my Goldendoodle keeps me going!). First of all I like the fit of all Salomon shoes, they feel like they are ready to wear out of the box. The quick lacing system is also a big plus! I have been using Salomon 3D variants for over 10 years. I also have hiking boots, other shoes and their ski gear and my wife and kids use them too. That being said, it's safe to say that the V8 version of these sneakers should be embarrassing for Salomon. In addition to poor tread life, every 3D shoe I've ever had wears out at the big toe joint for
