Nice but noisy fan.

Works well. The fan turns on at around 150 watts. Pretty noisy when in a small room. I've heard that this unit also has a second stage fan, but I don't know if that's a fact. Haven't used more than 250W of power so far, so I can't confirm. Does its job and the price is very reasonable.

Pros
  • Soft start technology and surface cooling
Cons
  • Quality

I failed on the fourth try!

I bought this unit to replace an unnamed unit from China that had suffered user shock. I have used Samlex Solar units in the past and had high hopes for a quality unit. This device has been used four times in the past year to power a small soldering gun. One morning I discovered that the battery in my car was dead. When connecting the charger to the car battery, the inverter fan started. The inverter was not turned off with the remote control or by removing the remote control and turning off…

Pros
  • Two outlets with GFCI protection
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Save money: jump starters, chargers and portable power supplies

I bought this unit to power a small freezer in my RV when travelling. I used a 600W MSW inverter. I've read that Pure Sine would be much better for the freezer and any other appliances I might want to run. The refrigerator consumes 75 watts when in operation. When I first tried to plug in the freezer it tripped the ground fault. A couple of times I was able to turn on the freezer and once started it would turn on and off as it should. I called Samlex and they told me this was perfectly normal…

Pros
  • True sine wave power - ideal for sensitive loads
Cons
  • So far so good
